Why Should “End in My Mind”?

Howdy, Guys. Long time no greetings to all of you. On this occasion, I want to share the reason about why should “End in My Mind” for my site title.

End in My Mind

Maybe all of you curious about this site title. Let me tell you about my blog’s history first. Do you know when I created this blog? I ever answered this question in page “About Me”. If you search this one, then you will not find the answer for now because I have updated for this page many times. I created this blog six years ago around May,2012. This blog was originally used for subject in my Senior High School and I ever had times to retired as blogger for one year. When I studied in University, I come back as blogger with post my Computer Science subject. So, I thought this blog will be used for computer science content. At first, I used another site title but still not suitable for this blog. I forgot what site title which I ever used but I don’t care about it. As long as everyone read my posts also giving comments and like, it’s okay for me. I’m happy for all of this.

Actually, in the past, I don’t have any dreams for future. I don’t know what I want to be. I’m a unique person. Just focus to study in university and graduate at future. I don’t know what job that I will take in the future. So, in March 2015, I took an internship for one year in vendor as a Java Developer. In there, we got a training not only technical but also soft skill. This training’s topic is “THE SEVEN HABITS OF HIGHLY EFFECTIVE PEOPLE” which you can read this e-books in here. This seven habits of highly effective people are:

  1. Be Proactive
  2. Begin with the End in Mind
  3. Put First Things First
  4. Think win-win
  5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood
  6. Synergize
  7. Sharpen the Saw

From these points, I interest the second point “Begin with then End in Mind”. From wikipedia, it said that

Envision what you want in the future so you can work and plan towards it. Understand how people make decisions in their life. To be effective you need to act based on principles and constantly review your mission statement. Are you – right now – who you want to be? What do I have to say about myself? How do you want to be remembered? If habit 1 advises to change your life to act and be proactive, habit 2 advises that you are the programmer! Grow and stay humble.

Stephen R. Covey

So, As I worked as a programmer when took internship for one year, I was aware what I must do about this job although I didn’t like become programmer. My friend ever gave me the choice. Love what you do or do what you love. This make me doubt because I thought that I do what I love. My friend give me advice that I should choose to love what I do. This advice is true.

Finally, I enjoy with my job until now. From this, I thought that “Begin with the End in Mind” should be my title site but it’s general so that I changed become End in My Mind which means for myself.

  1. That’s really nice. & wow, I didn’t know you had this blog for so many years. Mine is over six years too. I’m glad the blog title is for yourself. That’s how it should be, I think. Your friend gave you great advice. 😀
